Wow! what a day?
We expected it to be a little drizzly and chilly, which would have been perfect running conditions and it ended up being yet another scorcher. Well done to everyone for the amazing running.
It was great to see so many of you completing your firsts today, so many of you smashing your First marathon, there is a reason it is called your first, because it is not your last, although some of you may be thinking otherwise right now.
After the minutes silence this morning followed by the round of applause, it was then all business.
Along with the firsts today, it was Simons 70th Marathon (his 45th this year), it was also James’ Birthday today, travelling all the way down from somewhere near Leeds, I think it was Hull. It was great to see so many faces that we recognise from previous events and to make friends with so many new ones too.
We look forward to seeing you all again sometime soon at a future event.
Below you will find the results and the updated course records.
Finally a massive thank you to the Zig Zag Running Team, our marshals who keep you going in the right direction, and then the at the aid station and coffee station who keep you fed and watered afterwards, without all of you it just wouldn't be the same, you make such a difference, so Thank you.
