St George’s Day Challenge 23rd April 2023

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

What an amazing day today we had with you all...

Firstly we would like to extend our sincerest congratulations to all of you who participated in the St Georges Day Challenge, with so many of you completing your first ever 5ks, 10ks, Half Marathons, First Marathons and even First Ultra Marathons.

Whilst we had an unfortunate hiccup at the start with the route being inadvertently adjusted, sending the first set of runners on an unnecessary diversion adding an extra distance to everyone's run, thankfully our wonderful marshals quickly remedied the situation and got everyone back on track. We were just as irritated by the unintentional additional mileage it caused and hope that the large amount of cake at the end of the race took away some of that annoyance.

One other bonus was how lucky we were with the weather, holding out from being too hot and no rain, we couldn't have asked for better.

We would like to extend a massive congratulations to Cat Marriott on her 250th Marathon today,

Overall, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the event for their enthusiasm and support. The friendly atmosphere we like to install in our events was electric today, and it was heartening to see so many people come together to celebrate their love of running. We hope that we will get to see you all at future events and we wish you all the best of luck in your current and future running endeavours.

Below you'll find the results from today along with updated course records, if you'd like to look at our future events you'll find them on our home page, www.zigzagrunning.co.uk
